Short version: HereLore tells the history of places using automatically generated
text and audio. Stories can contain mistakes, so check anything important. Respect the places you
visit and the people in them. Premium is a Google Play subscription that renews automatically
until you cancel it in Google Play.
1. Agreement
These Terms apply to the HereLore mobile app ("the App"), published by Dragos Coman, an independent
developer based in Romania ("we", "us"). By installing or using the App you agree to these Terms
and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. What the App does
The App uses your location, and photos you choose to take, to find nearby places. It then tells
their history as text and narrated audio, with features such as narrators, Time Machine, walking
tours, quizzes and a map. Features may change, be added or be removed over time.
3. Generated content and accuracy
Stories, audio, quizzes, translations and place recognition are generated automatically by
language and speech models, using sources such as Wikipedia and Wikidata. They can contain factual
errors, simplifications or the wrong place.
Some narrators are deliberately humorous or dramatic. Their stories are meant to entertain and
are not authoritative history.
Do not rely on the App for navigation, safety, legal, medical or travel decisions. Distances,
directions and walking routes are approximate. Opening hours and access rules are not checked.
If you find a mistake, use "Not this place?" in the App or email us.
4. Using the App safely and respectfully
Stay aware of your surroundings. Don't use the App while driving or cycling, or anywhere
looking at your screen is unsafe.
Respect private property, local laws and signs. A place appearing in the App does not mean it
is open to the public or safe to visit.
Respect other people's privacy when you take photos. Follow photography rules at museums,
religious sites and other venues.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
use the App or its server for anything unlawful, or to create harmful, hateful or misleading content;
get around the free limits, the subscription checks or the App's security, for example by
faking installs or requests;
access our server other than through the App, scrape it, overload it, or resell its output;
reverse engineer the App, except where the law allows it.
We may limit or block access that breaks these rules.
6. Free use and Premium
Free use: the App can be used for free, with a daily limit on stories and photo
scans. The current limits are shown in the App and may change.
Premium: an optional monthly or annual subscription sold through Google Play. It
unlocks more stories and scans, all narrators and other features described on the
subscription screen. Prices are shown in the App and in Google Play before you buy, in your local
currency, including taxes where they apply.
Automatic renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period
unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Google charges your Google Play payment method.
Free trials and offers: if a free trial or introductory price is offered, it
becomes a paid subscription at the regular price when it ends, unless you cancel before then.
Cancelling: cancel at any time in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions →
Subscriptions, or from Settings in the App. Premium stays active until the end of
the period you have paid for. Uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds: payments are processed by Google and follow
Google Play's refund policy.

Promo codes are redeemed in Google Play and are subject to the terms shown when
you redeem them.
Price changes are announced in advance through Google Play, as Google's rules
require.
7. Ownership and licences
The App, its design, its narrators and its software belong to us. We give you a personal,
non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App on your own devices for non-commercial
purposes.
You may keep and share the stories the App creates for you, for personal use. Facts taken from
Wikipedia and Wikidata come from content under their own open licences
(CC BY-SA and
CC0). Images shown in the App
belong to their authors and are shown with their attribution.
Photos you take remain yours. You give us permission to process them only to recognise the place,
as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Third-party services
The App relies on services from other companies (listed in the Privacy Policy), such as Google Play,
Google Maps and the content providers. Their own terms apply when you use them. We are not
responsible for their availability or content.
9. Availability
We work to keep the App running, but we cannot guarantee it will always be available, error-free or
able to recognise every place. We may update, suspend or discontinue the App or any feature. If we
discontinue Premium, we will stop renewals and tell you in the App.
10. Disclaimer and liability
The App is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim
warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for
loss resulting from relying on generated content. Our total liability is limited to the amount you
paid us for the App in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for
gross negligence or intent. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including your
rights under the consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
11. Ending use
You can stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Remember to cancel any subscription in
Google Play. We may suspend access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when the App or the law changes. The "Last updated" date shows the current
version, and we will announce significant changes in the App. If you keep using the App after a
change, the new Terms apply. If you don't agree with them, stop using the App and cancel your
subscription.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Romanian law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the
mandatory laws of your country of residence, and you can bring a claim in the courts there. Before
going to court, please contact us: most problems can be solved by email.
